Participation in one of the Matador Battalion's competition teams is a special privilege. These teams represent our school and the U.S. Army in a variety of locations and situations. They require hours of practice to achieve the precision necessary to successfully compete with other teams. To achieve such results, each participant must be highly motivated and dedicated. Because of these special considerations, the following conditions must be met by each team member.
1. Treat the team captains with appropriate respect and cooperation. Each cadet must have a positive attitude, be committed to the team and promote teamwork. Practice is not always fun and is often demanding, yet it is absolutely necessary.
2. Participate in all practices possible. Attendance at ninety percent of regularly scheduled practices is the minimum requirement and is necessary to "letter" in a team activity.
3. Participation must be prompt. Team members arriving late for practice will cause the entire team to be penalized 5 pushups for each minute of tardiness per each late cadet.
4. Absences will be excused only by the SAI/AI.
5. The sole purpose of the Team Practice Class is development of the competition teams. Cadets enrolled in this class are LET 2's and above and are required to make the other scheduled practices also. Failure to do so will result in lowered grades .
6. It is impossible for the team to compete if team members are not passing all grades. Team members must be committed to at least passing all subjects. Failure to pass will preclude lettering in the team activity and may be reason for dismissal from the team.
7. Team members who are regular in attendance at practices (90%+) will receive 200 extra grade points per six weeks.
I understand these conditions and promise to meet them to the best of my ability.
