The purpose of this handbook is to provide the cadet with the Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), pertinent portions of Department of the Army and other regulations, and information governing the conduct of the US Army Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps (JROTC) at Estacado High School. An understanding of the contents of this handbook will greatly assist the cadet during enrollment in the program and will keep the cadet informed of responsibilities in meeting the requirements for successful completion of the course.
While the content of this handbook is comprehensive, it is not all-inclusive. In the absence of specific guidance in any given situation, it is expected that the cadet will react so as to reflect the moral attributes of a gentleman or lady and in keeping with the high standards of military tradition.
Additions, deletions and/or corrections will be published on a timely basis and will become a part of this handbook. All cadets are invited to recommend changes to the handbook when such changes are believed to be justified and in the best interest of the Corps of Cadets. All such recommendations will be given full consideration at each level in the chain.
