JROTC did an outstanding job in
the Tri-Annuals this year and earned the
Honor Unit with Distinction status (a gold
star). The Inspection team was Mr. Merl
Fuchs, and Mr. Joseph Schapatone. "How
were they graded in the Tri-Annuals?" you
may ask. The grade depends on a cadet
staff briefing, cadet attendance, in-ranks
inspection, curriculum knowledge, drill
and ceremony, color guard, supply room,
records/administration, training
management, and public affairs. In the
Cadet Staff Briefing the staff was graded
on their strengths and weaknesses such as
their "Great use of technology-
PowerPoint!" They scored an amazing 93
out of 100 in this event.
Cadet attendance is of course how
many cadets participated in the event. 10
cadets were absent, all excused. If too
many cadets had not shown up during the
Tri-Annuals, the battalion would have been
automatically disqualified. All in all the
cadets had "Superb attitudes". They scored
50 out of 50 in this event.
In-ranks inspection, which is an inspection
in uniform, flaws such as not shaving,
strings hanging off the uniform,
missing parts of uniform, dirty brass and
any improper wear of the uniform are
point deductions. They only points that
were deducted were from missing rank,
nameplate and ribbons, and some were
just the positioning of the ribbons and
nameplate. All in all "everyone looked
great", and they did an excellent job
answering questions with only four questions
missed. They scored 60 out of a 65
in this event.

Curriculum knowledge covers
what they were taught and what they
remembered about the curriculum that
they were assigned. Only twenty cadets
were chosen for this particular event, and
thanks to their brilliance, they scored 100
out of 100 in this event. Drill and
Ceremony is how well they performed in
marching. "Overall they did an excellent
performance, executed all required movements,
and had an excellent command
voice." All in all they scored 45 out of 50.
Color Guard also performed in the Tri-Annuals. They scored an exceptional
32 of 35. The Supply room was
checked as well, which scored 50 out of
50. How well the records of the cadets
were stored were checked and received a
score of 46 out of 50. Training
Management is also involved in their
score. They score this by checking if we
are involved in unit activities, and if the
training schedules are posted and up to
date. The score for this event is 50 out of
50. Last, but not least, our public affairs
were scored as well. In other words how
well we are "Getting out the word about
JROTC". They scored 50 out or 50 on this
event. All in all the Cadets in JROT( did
an excellent job and earned a total of 576
out of 600 points. |
